Resum

The purpose of this communication is to divulge a new teaching system in terms of educational innovation, which has been carried out during the last academic year in the so-called Hidraulica y Riegos -Hydraulics and Irrigations-subject; This subject is included in an academic plan to be extinguished which does still have many students registered who, due to different circumstances, are unable to attend the group tutorial classes the Centre (EUIT Agricola, UPM) puts at their disposal. The aim of the project was to design, implement and develop the management of the group tutorial classes in a virtual way; the objectives that were achieved were to promote the using of collaborative virtual tutorial classes, to interact with the student via chat or audio-chat in the tele-meetings, either in real time or in scheduled sessions. In addition, a video-summary of every tutorial was recorded which, later on, was uploaded to the platform in order to favour the student's self-learning with all the material left at their disposal in Moodle. Two options were proposed to the students: One, the possibility of in-person attend the classes; the other one, to do it on line from any other point with an access to the internet. This was made with the collaboration of an intern student who recorded with a camera the tutorial classes and broadcasted them live through an IT program (adobe connet) which was used as a link between the in-person classes with the teacher and the student who was somewhere else connected to the internet. Afterwards, the wordings and formulations of the proposed practical exercises were uploaded one week before they were solved in the group tutorial class; in it, the summaries of these tutorial classes were recorded, edited and uploaded to Moodle platform so as to put them at the disposal of those students who had not been able to attend the classes in person. In order to evaluate the impact of the project, it was developed a questionnaire with different items about it to be answered, which gave, also, the chance to make suggestions to this system. As a general rule and with a global scope, this training exercise was highly valued by the students involved and, in addition, a rise in the percentage of passed exams was proved.
