2. Aportaciones a la sociedad,

In 2019 he co-Founded FAIR Data Systems S.L., a spin-off company of CBGP-UPM-INIA that engages in consultancy and technology development around FAIR

3. Aportaciones a la formación de jóvenes investigadores

He has supervised eight Master's students in Canada and Spain, nine Doctoral candidates (three ongoing), five post-doctoral researchers, and one research associate.  Of the doctoral candidates, one became Assistant Professor at the Scripps Research Institute, USA, three have pursued industrial careers, one is currently a post-doctoral researcher, and one has entered the National Police Force of Spain.  Of the post-doctoral researchers, two have taken faculty positions in Spain (UPM, and Universidad del País Vasco), one has taken a position as a Science Officer at a microbiome-focused company, and two others are continuing their post-doctoral research in other laboratories.
