Abstract

The focus of this chapter is summarizing the most important aspects of reproductive physiology (folliculogenesis in the ovary, sexual behavior, ovulation, mating, embryo development, pregnancy, parturition, and lactation) as a basis to better understand and become successful in rabbit reproduction management in rabbit farms. Considering reproductive physiology, the current advances in reproductive and nutritional management to meet reproductive efficiency, welfare standards, consumer demand, and circular economy challenges will be described.
