1. In my role as the head of the Quantum
Communications Program at UPM entrepreneur and training budget lines, I am
responsible for leading research and development initiatives, managing the
Quantum Technologies Laboratory, and fostering a cutting-edge educational
environment. My work has led to significant advancements in the field,
contributing to our national infrastructure and positioning UPM as a key player
in global quantum communications.
2. Achievements (highlighting successful project
outcomes, extensive collaboration with industry partners, and a strong
commitment to academic excellence and practical application):
As the leader of entrepreneurship and training within the MadQuantum-CM
program, I oversee projects designed to establish a comprehensive ecosystem for
quantum technologies. This includes advancing cryptographic hardware with INDRA
SCS for the Madrid Quantum Communication Infrastructure (MadQCI), ensuring
connectivity and innovative use cases with TELEFÓNICA INNOVACIÓN DIGITAL,
enhancing the integration between MadQCI and a satellite-based Quantum Key
Distribution network with UTE INDRA SCS e INDRA, and developing secure
telecommunications systems with GMV AEROSPACE AND DEFENCE, S.A.U. in the future
EuroQCI operations according to the white paper Concepts of Operations of
EuroQCI.
The
program also supports SMEs through the MadQ Business Venture (MadQ BV)
initiative, leveraging the Quantum Technology Laboratory at UPM to advance
quantum technology solutions and align with European Quantum Flagship and
EuroQCI objectives.
