Tenured Associate Professor at the School of Architecture in Madrid from 2008. Architect and PhD Summa Cum Laude of ?Theory and History of Architecture (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, 2008), won the UPM Doctoral Extraordinary Award 2007-2008 and Special Mention in the XXII Awards ?Urbanism, Architecture and Public Works for her doctoral thesis, entitled The Imported Modernity. Madrid 1949-1969: Diffusion Channels of Foreign Architecture. Within the Department of Architectonical Composition (DAC), she is Deputy Head and Lecturer of ?Analysis of Architecture and ?Introduction to Architectural Criticism. She has been supervisor of 9 doctoral thesis and currently she is supervising 7 more. She has been part of more than 40 doctoral thesis committees (in Spain, Brazil and Australia). She has been a Visiting Professor at the Universidad Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil) for the year 2020.
Based on the areas of research developed by her ? ?20th Century Architecture and its diffusion, ?20th Century Ibero-American Architecture and architects - , she has published many papers in international publications in Spain, Portugal, Italy, United Kingdom, Estonia, United States of America, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Brazil, Colombia, Argentina and Chile. Her work includes articles as Learning from the Opposite? Iberian Journals Glance at Australia (Fabrications. London, 2021); and book chapters as ?Periodicals and the return to Modernity after the Spanish Civil War, included in Peckhan, Andrew; Schmiedeknecht, Torsten (eds). Modernism and the Professional Architecture Journal: Reporting, editing and reconstructing in post-war Europe, published by Routledge (London, 2018); and ?Latin America in Modern Historiography, included in the book edited by herself Esteban Maluenda, Ana (ed.). Modern architecture in Latin America. Anthology of authors, works and texts (Barcelona, 2016). This book and book chapter were awarded at the ANPARQ 2018 Awards (Brazil).
She has taken part in many international conferences, including the Society of Architectural Historians (SAH); the European Architectural History Network (EAHN); the Society of Architectural Historians of Australia and New Zealand (SAHANZ): the Ibero-American Association of Urban History (AIHU); DoCoMoMo International; DoCoMoMo Brazil; the Latin American Architecture Seminars (SAL); the National Association of Research and Post-graduation in Architecture and Urbanism in Brazil (ANPARQ), etc. Likewise, she has given frequent lectures in Spanish, European and South American universities, among them the Universidad de Navarra (Spain), the Politecnico di Milano (Italy), and the Universidade de São Paulo, Universidade São Judas Tadeo de São Paulo, Pontificia Universidade Católica de São Paulo, Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, Universidade de Brasília, Universidade Federal da Paraíba (Brazil), and the Universidad de las Américas (Ecuador).
She has been involved in different research projects funded by governmental, institutional and private sources. She has been the Principal Investigator of the project of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness of the Government of Spain titled ?ArchiteXt Mining. Spanish modern architecture through its texts (1939-1975), developed between 2016 and 2019. She has participated in the project Mapping Global Architectural Histories on Modernism, in collaboration with the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), granted by the MISTI Global Seed Funds grant program (USA).
Several institutions have granted her research, including the Government of Spain and the Fundación Carolina (Spain). The Society of Architectural Historians and the Global History of Architecture Teaching Collaborative (USA) contributed to the diffusion of her work with travel fellowships. She is currently a member of four research groups in three countries: ?Imagined architectures: architectural graphic representation and other images of the Universidade de Lisboa (Portugal), ?Representations: imagery and technology of the Universidade de São Paulo (Brazil), ?Architecture, City and Culture of the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) and ?Theory, History, Analysis and Criticism of Architecture of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (Spain).

Curator of the exhibitions ?Three magazines in Madrid. The international glance in the local context (1949-1968) and ?A century of Arquitectura magazine, organized by the library of the School of Architecture (UPM) in 2011 and 2019 respectively, she has also contracted as a researcher for international cultural events such as the Shanghai International Exhibition 2010 and the Spanish Pavilion of the XIV Venice Architecture Biennale 2014.
For several years she belonged to the Editorial Team of Arquitectura Viva and AV Monografías magazines (Spain). She is now General Editor of the ?Global South in Architectural Histories, the journal of the EAHN (European Architectural History Network).
