Brief description ot the activity
She belongs to the consolidated research group of the UPM: Transport Planning (since 2006) and works at the Transport Research Center (Transyt), since 2006 to date, in which she has participated in different research projects in the field of: collaborative scenarios to integrate sustainable urban transport and land use policies (TRANS-URBAN), sustainable urban mobility (Metropolitan Mobilty Observatory, SUMPS) pedestrian mobility (Visiting researcher at Mobility, Logistics and Automotive Technology Research Center (MOBI) at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel); Trip generation in shopping centres, hospitals, etc. (Relations between the territorial model and metropolitan mobility: analysis and modelling); Spillover effects (Spillover effects of Transport infrastructures).
She is the technical director of the Metropolitan Mobility Observatory (MMO). The MMO is an analysis and observation initiative made up of the Public Transport Authorities (PTA) of the main Spanish metropolitan areas, the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda and the Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge. The OMM constitutes a database with 450 indicators from 25 Spanish cities at present, with which the OMM Annual Report is prepared, which currently constitute an 18-year sequential series (2002-2020), with a key strategic value for the sector. In fact, the OMM website receives tens of thousands of visits annually, to consult the data it offers open. The OMM provides each year or the OTLE with its urban mobility indicators, as well as other forums and initiatives in cities and the academic world, recognized as the only source of this type in Spain, and an international reference. Every year an OMM technical conference is held in which the main trends and topics of interest on urban mobility are analyzed, and she has organized the XVI (Valencia), XVII (online) and XVIII (Cádiz) edition. Since 2019, she has represented the OMM that has been invited to take part in the Forum Of New Technologies In Transport, ITS Spain, Traffic 2021: Presentation of the Report of the Observatory of Metropolitan Mobility 2019- Advance 2020; in CONAMA 2020: Strategies of sustainable mobility for the decarbonisation of transport Debate table: The modal shift towards collective transport; in the European Mobility Week conference: Towards a new paradigm in urban mobility; in the IFEMA Cities Forum: Mobility and quality of life. clean, safe, accessible and sustainable mobility that combats climate change and allows connectivity between the different areas of the city; in the Sustainable Mobility Forum. She is part of the jury of the awards of the Spanish Week of Mobility promoted by the Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge, and ‘Muévete Verde’ Award from ‘Fundación Movilidad’ of Madrid City Council since 2019.
She combines research and teaching activities. She is a professor at the E.T.S. Ingenieros Caminos, Canales y Puertos, from 2001 to date, teaching the following subjects: Urban Planning and Management, (Master Ingeniería Caminos, Canales y Puertos), Urban Planning (Civil and Territorial Engineering Degree), Urban Project (Civil and Territorial Engineering Degree ) Territorial Planning (Engineering of Topography, Geodesy and Cartography), Techniques and Urban Transport (ETSICCP) Holding the following positions: • Professor Contratado Doctor, UPM (2014- Present) • Assistant Professor Doctor, at the ETSICCP, UPM (2009- 2014 ) • Associate Professor, at the ETSI Roads, Canals and Ports, UPM (2001-2009) She is also a teacher in the Master in Civil Engineering Systems (MUSIC), Module in Advanced Technological Training. She belongs to the Educational Innovation Group at the E.T.S.I.C.C.P: Heritage, Urbanism and Environment (PatMA), from the Polytechnic University of Madrid from 2014 to the present.
