His research activity focuses on renewable energy sources and energy efficiency in buildings. According to Web of Science, on 10/12/2021 the sum of times cited without self-citations is 334 with 294 citing articles, and 38.3 average citations per year from 2013. According to Scopus, his publications have been cited 382 times by 334 documents, with an h-index of 10. According to Google Scholar, his publications have been cited 544 times with an h-index of 11. He has published the chapter "Performance of semi-transparent photovoltaic façades" of the book "Nano and biotech based building materials for energy efficiency" (ISBN 978-3-319-27505-5) of the Springer global publishing company. He has directed 1 doctoral thesis already completed and 1 in development. He has published 23 contributions in reference conferences in his research area, such as the "European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference - EUPVSEC" (4 participations), the "Passive and Low Energy Architecture - PLEA" (3 participations), the "International ENERGY FORUM on Advanced Building Skins" "(3 participations). He has participated in 14 European, national and local competitive research projects (3 of them as IP) and 7 R&D non-competitive projects.
