Brief description ot the activity

A continuación desarrollaré mis ámbitos de trabajo y resaltaré mi perfil como investigadora interdisciplinar en el contexto de cambio global que vivimos con un enfoque más particular en la conexión entre lo rural y urbano. I would take advantage to present my cv in English. I believe that my field of expertise in agroecosystems, land planning, rural and urban fringe, participatory processes for decision making in rural areas, mixed methods research, social capital and food systems would fit a role needed for transformational change in territorial systems. I think my role (as an agronomist and social scientist) would also provide accurate design of research processes to better understand preferences and perceptions of rural workers or urban citizens regarding land planning and its resources (crops, forest, protected areas, soil, food, practices, land management and land cover). Additionally I would be able to provide expert knowledge in the field of transformational change and climate change adaptation, society and instituional role on the socio-ecological systems and the relationships between agroecosystem services and well-being. My experience across several EU projects over the last 20 years, first as a PhD researcher, then Post-doctoral researcher, and, lastly, as the Spanish team Leader of several consortiums, has given me extensive experience in developing detailed scientific assessments and providing scientific advice. These positions have lead to an analytical experience in solving complex problems by looking at the problem through the right lens (and using the appropriate method like statistics, participation, modelling, cartographic information and so on). Moreover, my involvement in collaborating in National Research programmes has lead me to share common research interests in several national networks related to "Urbanism, Agroecology and Food Systems" allowing me to become part of a national network actively invovled in food systems planning. Most recently, I have become coordinator of several process of food systems planning within the region of Madrid (Paisaje y Huerta en la Comarca de las Vegas and Sierra Oeste Agroecológica) both funded by the Rural Development Programme (PDR 2014-2020 PDR, FEADER) what seems a perfect tipping point to bring this research on global change and interdisciplinarity into the CSIC team.

Dissemination of science and /or lecturing would favoured of this experience in innovative research as well as several approaches for public and political awareness. The current work in action research and collaboration with experienced professors in several research groups (National and international such as: Landscape Ecology, Participatiory Action Research, Agroecological Systems, Pastoralism, etc.) would also encourage a multidisciplinary view in the framework of land planning, agroecology, and, rural and urban relationships. My active role in civil society organizations will encourage a wider scope in the applied reseach and facilitate socioeconomical research linked to several networks involved in public policies, rural development, landscape planning, food sovereignity, etc. The multidisciplinarity environment is my preferred context for tackling the socio-natural problems that presently dominate the field of food systems planning. I would be able to provide a broad perspective on all of these issues through my work with multiple stakeholders across many national boundaries building good working atmospheres.B.1.
