Hi, I'm Beatriz and I have a Masters Degree in Biomedical Engineering. I consider myself to be a highly motivated person who is always looking forward to learn new things and work in different areas of knowledge. This will led me to work as a data scientist for about 2 years, mostly on the banking sector.

Currently I'm an Early Stage Researcher working on PROTECT, a H2020 Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action European Training Network with the goal of developing new ways of empowering users to understand the risks they take when they go online and offering new tools that enable companies to incorporate data protection into their services. The project is simultaneously funding my PhD in Artificial Intelligence at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.

My research topic is directed at the digital representation of information related to the privacy and data protection domain, where I will be focusing on the implementation of a service based on decentralized Web technologies and Semantic Web specifications to facilitate the communication between data subjects and data controllers in the light of the GDPR. The main challenges to be explored are linked to the exercising of GDPR-related rights and obligations, the negotiation of privacy terms and the governance of access to personal data stores.
