Brief description ot the activity
I completed my B.S. in Mathematics at the University of Zaragoza (UZ) in 2011. Subsequently, I pursued two Master's degrees in Mathematical Research, the first one during the final year of my bachelor's in collaboration with the University of Pau (UPPA, France), focusing on interdisciplinary Mathematics research. The second Master's degree, obtained in 2012 from UZ, was more concentrated in Pure Mathematics, achieving a grade of 9.49/10. Following this, I pursued a Ph.D. in Pure Mathematics, specializing in Number Theory and Algebraic Geometry from 2012 to 2015, conducted as a joint program between UPPA and UZ, funded by the French Ministry of Education. The Ph.D. earned me distinctions of "Cum laude"/"Très bien".
From 2015 to 2020, I honed my skills as an international researcher, securing roles as a teaching-researcher at UPPA and Institut Fourier (Univ. Grenoble, France). Notably, I was selected for competitive postdoctoral grants in Brazil at the University of São Paulo (2017-2019) and then in the prestigious Mathematics institute IMPA in Rio de Janeiro (2019-2020). Since 2020, I held an Assistant Professor (AYD) position at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) and currently I have become Associate Professor (Profesor Permanente Laboral) starting February 2024. My professional journey has encompassed participation in many national and international projects in France, Brazil and Spain. Moreover, I am interested in algorithmic methods that could potentially be implemented in SageMath or Python.
Collaborating both internationally and independently, I have produced 7 publications and 2 pre-publications. Among my mathematical production, it is worth noticing that some results out of my Ph.D.'s subjects were published in Advances in Mathematics (Q1 JCR) and Mathematische Annalen (Q2 JCR), both in the JCR's top tiers and SJR's top quartile. A talk's proposal derived from the latter was selected for a "Short Communication" at ICM-2018 in Rio de Janeiro and I have been presenting my different achievements in prestigious national and international conferences as invited speaker, and I am contributing to various department seminars. Additionally, I have conducted international specialized seminars and co-organized a semi-presential seminar since 2020, as well as mini-courses and two international conferences.
My passion for teaching has been evident throughout my career. Starting initially in private academia, I have start teaching in Univerity during my second year of the Ph.D. and subsequently held teaching-researcher positions at UPPA, Grenoble, and finally UPM. Notably, I was selected to implement the Topology subject in UPM's new Mathematics Degree program. I have consistently received exceptional teaching evaluations, regularly scoring above 9, and I have been subject coordinator on many occasions. As a culmination of this period, I've created an extensive range of freely accessible educational resources that can be found on my personal website. At UPM, I am involved in various innovative teaching projects, notably in creating randomized exercises and exams for students, and I oversee Communication Management for UPM's Mathematics Degree (EPES) and its website. Furthermore, I have co-supervised last year two Bachelor's Theses (TFG) at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid on Mathematics.
