Brief description ot the activity
Yolanda holds a BSc and a MSc degree in Physic Sciences (specialty in Electronics) from the University of Salamanca , lately she got a PhD from the University of Madrid in the area of Radio communications, Signals and Systems ( SSR) . In the SSR she got a FPI scholarship (Research Personnel Training) and she participated in several research projects, besides she made a stay at the University of Florida where she worked with the CNEL (Computer Neuro-engineering Laboratory ) in projects about neural signal separation .
She taught at the School of Informatics at the Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca and later she worked as Senior Engineer in Aguere Systems (an American company which deals with DSP design for Ethernet).
Nowadays she is accredited by the ACAP (Spanish Agency for the Quality in Superior Education) and she is a Titular professor in the Area of Signal Theory and Communications. She teaches subjects of his field of technical specialty in the Universidad Europea de Madrid (UEM).
At UEM, she has been devoted to the academic administration as coordinator of telecommunication engineering degree (2002-2012) , among its missions within this post she highlighted the quality control of the training offered to students.
Her research in education is focused on active methodologies everything related to education in general skills and their assessment an Project Based Learning methodologies as well. She also actively participates in various projects about innovation in higher education. Yolanda has delivered numerous national and international publications in her technical research ( signal separation ) as well as in her current line of educational research. In recent years, he has taught Telecomunications subjects in the area of signal theory and communications, and has completed several "Projects Based Engineering" with Telecommunications students, two of whom received the first prize in the ICT area in their course. He has actively participated in the "Participate" projects of the school, in the Accreditation process of the telecommunication degrees and coordinated the Final Degree Projects of the ICT area.
