Resumen
Sustainable urban drainage systems (SUDS) spread over the world with the aim of mimicking the initial drainage conditions of urban watersheds. Literature has paid extensive attention to such systems including economic impacts and evaluation. A large number of previous works addressed economic evaluation of SUDS comprising economic and social aspects. Many base on cost-benefit approaches even feeding the models with monetized environmental and social benefits. However, those studies often lack of accurate hydrological modelling so the most relevant economic impacts in terms of runoff management are not accurately determined. In this work we present a cost benefit analysis based on time-dependent events based hydrological modelling so that both costs and benefits from the SUDS operation are accurately determined. The results of the La Solana de Valdebebas urban development in Madrid are presented.
