Resumen
The use of transcription has been recurrent in the history of Western music since ancient times. Composers have reworked their own materials for practical needs and also those of other authors, substantially modifying the content of the pieces. The adaptations have had different uses depending on the epoch and have reached an enormous complexity. In today's curricula for professional musical studies, emphasis is placed on the practice of a repertoire in different styles. The transcription, in this case, has a didactic and artistic purpose, in order to provide materials from all periods to the various instruments. These adaptations must take into consideration the target instrument, in order to be able to offer an adequate solution to its specific morphological characteristics. This process is presented with a concrete example of a baroque sonata by Corelli for soprano clarinet in Bb. Methodologically, priority is given to aspects of strengthening the technique of the Bb clarinet, such as the use of a suitable tessitura and tonality, the use of different articulations and nuances, sound conduction and breathing.
