Descripción Breve de Actividad Realizada
Josué Pagán is Associate Professor PhD at the ETSI de Telecomunicación of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. He obtained his PhD degree in Computer Science from the Complutense University of Madrid in October 2018 with 'cum laude' honors and Extraordinary PhD Award. His work focuses on the development of robust methodologies for information acquisition, modeling, simulation and optimization in biophysical and critical scenarios. He has worked on the development of models for early crisis prediction and classification of neurological and oncological diseases. In 2016 he spent 12 weeks as a visiting researcher at the Embedded Pervasive Systems Lab at Washington State University (USA) under the supervision of Professor Hassan Ghasemzadeh. Previously, in 2015 he spent 16 weeks as a visiting researcher at the Pattern Recognition Lab. at Friedrich Alexander Universität (Germany) under the supervision of Prof. Bjöern Eskofier. He obtained the degree in Telecommunication Engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid in September 2013 with Honors. He also obtained a degree in Telecommunication Eng. Esp. Image and Sound from the Public University of Navarra in 2010.
Active in the field of technology transfer, he is founder of a technology-based start-up, and inventor with IP in exploitation. His teaching focuses on HW-SW systems for IoT and AmI. He is a member of the Quality Committee of the IIS of Hospitales Madrid and has participated as a member of the program committee of international conferences such as DATE, DS-RT, SummerSim and IEEE COINS. He is currently co-director of four doctoral thesis.
