Abstract

Professional on-line courses are the way to increase skills, competences and knowledge inside our marketplace workers and might be one of the key actions to promote an increase and engagement on the people interest in a new field, like Microelectronics, allowing them to adapt some more sustainable vision, greener electronics technology, and a more diverse, equity and much more better integration people in this workforce. Recent European Union actions like the Chip Act, [1], as a coordinated answer to the shortage and dependence of the European Union on the foreign technology and microelectronics fabrication aggravated by the Ukrainian war put their outcomes from this project as a reference for future actions on technical VET inside the Europe Union. Early pilot results show that at this moment the students that are doing part of the pilot have less time that should be necessary to follow the curricula as well as probably they are not interested in all the activities and tasks of the pilot courses offered.

From the perspective of influence or social adoption, and based on metrics associated with mentions and interactions provided by agencies specializing in calculating the so-called "Alternative or Social Metrics," we can highlight as of 2026-04-11:

  • The use of this contribution in bookmarks, code forks, additions to favorite lists for recurrent reading, as well as general views, indicates that someone is using the publication as a basis for their current work. This may be a notable indicator of future more formal and academic citations. This claim is supported by the result of the "Capture" indicator, which yields a total of: 3 (PlumX).

It is essential to present evidence supporting full alignment with institutional principles and guidelines on Open Science and the Conservation and Dissemination of Intellectual Heritage. A clear example of this is:

Contextual narrative

Este trabajo representa una aportación significativa dentro del ámbito de la educación digital especializada, donde presento el desarrollo de cursos profesionales en línea diseñados en el marco del proyecto europeo ECoVEM. En esta ponencia, presentada en la conferencia IEEE Learning With MOOCs 2023, exploramos cómo una metodología inspirada en los MOOCs orientados a tareas puede impulsar la adquisición de competencias, el reciclaje profesional y la adaptación del sector de la microelectrónica hacia tecnologías más sostenibles y respetuosas con el medio ambiente. Destaco especialmente cómo estos cursos permiten incrementar las habilidades y el conocimiento de los trabajadores, fomentando el interés por nuevas áreas tecnológicas y contribuyendo a una fuerza laboral más diversa e inclusiva. 

Como coautor, mi contribución se centra en integrar enfoques pedagógicos innovadores dentro del ecosistema ECoVEM, un proyecto que reúne centros de FP, instituciones politécnicas, asociaciones industriales y socios sociales para promover la excelencia en formación profesional en microelectrónica a nivel europeo. Esta iniciativa no solo impulsa la digitalización y la inteligencia artificial en la formación técnica, sino que además refuerza la igualdad de oportunidades, la sostenibilidad y la cohesión social en el sector. Haber participado en este trabajo me ha permitido consolidar una línea de investigación aplicada que conecta formación avanzada, innovación educativa y necesidades reales de la industria.
